Eid-el-Fitr: Council boss preaches love, peaceful co-existence among Muslims and non-Muslims
Mayor Dele Oshinowo, the head of Lagos State’s Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, has urged both Muslims and non-Muslims to adopt a culture of tolerance and selflessness in order to improve the world.
Oshinowo offered guidance at a Ramadan lecture on Thursday at Agboyi-Ketu Secretariat in Lagos.
The chairman urged Nigerians to be kind to one another and abstain from impolite behaviors.
He claimed that one of the causes of people committing crimes was a lack of love.
Similarly, Alhaji Suleiman Idris, Chief Imam, Yarosalam Central Mosque, in his lecture titled: “Expectations of Citizens from their Leaders” urged leaders to strengthen feedback in ensuring the populace took complete ownership of their operations.
Idris described patience as the greatest attribute for a leader to emerge successful in his administrative doings.
He also urged leaders in the country to appoint individuals that would tell them the truth, not bootlickers, and praise singers who adopt the ‘YES’ trademark in all their opinions and thoughts.
Delivering the vote of thanks, the Chairman, League of Imams, Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Alhaji Daud Abdulsalam, commended the council chairman for his good administrative approach in ensuring that all angles of governance are touched.
