President Bola Tinubu’s “benevolence” to the people of Igbo extraction during his reign as governor of Lagos State has been described as the key reason behind the problems in Lagos State today.
These were the claims of Ifa Funsho, a social media influencer.
In a statement on X on Saturday, Funsho stated that when Tinubu “was governor of Lagos, he made an Igbo man commissioner. He put lots of Igbo in key positions.”
According to Funsho, the Igbos hate the Nigerian leader because “they don’t have such a man in their land.”
The influencer also urged the Yoruba to put those of their ethnic extraction first in political and other appointments at state levels.
Funsho’s statement reads, “If not that, it’s not logical to sell your brothers for enemies to laugh at you. Most of the problems in Lagos start with Tinubu, who treats Ibo and Yoruba as equals.
“When he was governor of Lagos, he made an Igbo man commissional. He put lots of Igbo in key positions. Look at it today.
“They hate him because they don’t have such a man in their land. No matter your educational level, if you don’t put your ethnicity first, you’ll end up becoming a house negro.”
Reacting to Funsho’s statement, Oyebanji Akin disclosed that the Nigerian president “deprived lots of Yoruba positions and gave them to Igbos.”
Akin says, “That’s why any day, anytime they are attacking Tinubu, I will never pity him because, during his time as governor, he deprived lots of Yoruba positions and gave them to Igbos.
“Tinubu caused what is happening to Yoruba in Lagos from these Igbo hands, and Fashola follows too.”
For Atobatale Marvin, in his reaction, he said, “BAT considered it his responsibility to be fair to all, irrespective, not realizing that he was dealing with a clannish tribe with an evil agenda against his person and his tribe.
“Election 2023 makes Yorùbás realize that they have been harboring people with hearts of serpent.”
Describing the appointment of Igbos by the Tinubu-led Lagos State government, G. Akindele states, “That was a huge error, which can be corrected. SW has a huge number of qualified and reputable professionals to fit into any position in every state.
“We have the highest number of unemployed graduates in the country. Why ignore them? Leaders should start correcting it now.”
