The Lagos State Government has been awarded with the Healthcare Equity and Access Award for its commitment to healthcare access and equity in the state.

The prize was accepted on behalf of the government by Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, Permanent Secretary of Lagos State Health District 3, at the recently ended Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria Awards in Lagos, according to a statement released on Monday.

The Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria is a private-sector-led group that aspires to improve health outcomes in Nigeria by pooling private-sector resources.

Receiving the award on behalf of the state government, Adeleke was quoted as saying that “it was gratifying that the Lagos State Government surpassed 6,000 nominees to clinch the prestigious award of the Private Sector Health Alliance of Nigeria.”

She added, “The honour showcases the T.H.E.M.E.S.+ Agenda’s pursuit led by Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu, to attain universal health coverage and enhance access to high-quality, efficient healthcare services for the state’s growing population.”
