Alvaro Morata has scored two goals in two game for Atletico Madrid

Memphis Depay scored twice for Atletico Madrid in a 3-1 win over third-tier Lugo on Saturday, propelling his team into the Copa del Rey last 16.

Atletico took the lead in the second minute when Angel Correa knocked in Javi Galan’s cross from the back post.

However, the visitors were pegged back before halftime when Puerto Rican attacker Leandro Antonetti forced his way into the area and scored with style.

Diego Simeone substituted Antoine Griezmann at halftime in an attempt to avert an upset, and Depay gave Atletico the lead midway through the second half.

The striker got space in the area and slammed home before immediately adding a second with a fantastic chipped finish off Marcos Llorente’s cross.

Later, last year’s champions Real Madrid travel to fourth-tier Arandina, while record 31-time winners Barcelona visit Barbastro on Sunday.
