President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday approved the appointment of Bashir Indabawa as the NorthWest Executive Commissioner, Exploration and Acreage Management, of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC).
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President, Media & Publicity, on Tuesday.
According to the statement, the President also approved the appointment of Mr. Enorense Amadasu as the SouthSouth Executive Commissioner, Development & Production, and Babajide Fasina as the Executive Commissioner, Economic Regulation & Strategic Planning of the SouthWest.
According to Ngelale, Tinubu also approved the redeployment of Dr. Kelechi Ofoegbu as the new South East Executive Commissioner, Corporate Services & Administration of the NUPRC.
Ngelale noted that the reshuffling and replacement of the appointees by Tinubu was “based on his deeply informed assessment of all factors concerning the sector with a view to establishing a regulatory framework and culture that comprehensively disincentivizes errant behaviour and incentivizes diligence and rules-based business practice across the industry.”
