Operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) allegedly broke into the off-campus lodges of Nasarawa State University, Keffi students at Angwa Karim Area of the State.

Over three yet-to-be-identified residents have been arrested by Operatives of the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC, who allegedly broke into the off-campus lodges of Nasarawa State University Keffi students at Angwa Karim Area.

According to some students on Monday, the men jumped into their compound as early as 2 a.m. and invaded their privacy by disrupting their sleep for a perceived illegal operation.

It was gathered from NSUK students who said that after being forced to turn in their phones so that their various social network applications could be used for fraud surveillance, EFCC agents damaged their lodge’s property and detained more than three residents.

Roland Oba, a student, he mentioned that it was a terrifying ordeal because it was late and the EFCC had raided other students’ lodges before. Three students were detained in his lodge, he claimed.

“This morning around 2 a.m., some EFCC and police officers vandalised the barbed wires and jumped into the compound through the fence. They destroyed our gate padlock, and they kicked the doors of our rooms with their legs. Our window nets were torn by them so they could survey who was inside.

“They collected my phone and went through it three times; when they did not find anything incriminating on the social apps, they left my room. These men trooped in their numbers and were equipped with tools used to break doors. I am not sure if it is only this lodge, but three boys were handcuffed and nabbed,” Roland said.

Another student, Timi, bemoaned the lack of professionalism displayed by those operators during their raid and related stories of how they harassed other students in his lodge.

Another victim, simply identified as Timi, lamented that those operatives were not professional in their raid and recounted how they harassed students in his lodge.

“It was not my lodge; I came there to visit a friend, so I slept over. They came to our window and instructed me to open the door. So, I queried them, and they responded that they were police officers. I wondered why they would come to my window and tell me to open my door. I also flashed my torchlight into their faces.

“They kept banging on my door until I opened it, then started harassing everyone in the room and asking us to unlock our phones. They checked my phone, and when they could not find anything, they left. Another set of people came and asked for our phones, which I gave them.

“For the third time, it was the EFCC operatives that came themselves, so a man I viewed as their superior asked for my phone, which I gave him. They even harassed some girls and said they were not aware that it was a ladies’ room. No search warrant was presented; now I hear they have taken those arrested students to Abuja,” Timi said.

The EFCC spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, denied knowledge of the operation when approached. He also promised to reach out to reporters, but as of the time of filing this report, he had yet to do so.eecc

The United States has carried out successful airstrikes in Iran, destroying nuclear sites in the Arab nation. This was announced in a statement on X by US President Donald Trump on Sunday. According to the statement, the successful airstrike led to the destruction of three nuclear sites in Iran. Trump disclosed that “a full payload of bombs was dropped on the primary sites” in Fordow, Natanz and Esfahan, turning the nuclear sites into ruins. This intervention by the US comes after protracted airstrikes between Israel and Iran, which have led to the death of over 200 people and the destruction of properties. In a bid to stop Iran from the completion of its nuclear weapons, Israel launched missile strikes into Iran last Friday, killing some army chiefs and nuclear scientists. In retaliation, the Arab nation attacked Tel Aviv with nuclear weapons, targeting residential areas and even a hospital in Beersheba, Southern Israel. In a bid to quell the hostilities between both nations, Trump demanded the “unconditional surrender” of Iran, a call which infuriated the Supreme Leader of Iran, who vowed never to surrender. According to Trump, all US fighter jets which carried out the bombings in Iran have successfully returned to American soil with no casualties recorded. “We have completed our very successful attack on three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz and Estahan,” Trump said. “All planes are now outside of Iran airspace,” he added. “A full payload of bombs was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. “All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our very great warriors. There is not another military in the world that could have done this; now is the time for peace. “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” the US president added. At the time of filing this report, Iran had yet to confirm the attack; however, its Supreme Leader, who has gone into hiding in underground bunkers for fear of assassination, had threatened to attack America in the event it carries out an attack in Iran.
