The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 91 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria, taking the new total to 1273 cases across the country.
The centre for disease control also announced the discharge of four patients and the death of two more patient.
The southeast state of Ebonyi also recorded its first coronavirus case as a 31-year-old bus driver from from Ukawu in Onicha LGA tested positive.
NCDC said, “Ninety-one new cases of COVID-19 have been reported; 43-Lagos, 8-Sokoto, 6-Taraba, 5-Kaduna, 5-Gombe, 3-Ondo, 3-FCT, 3-Edo, 3-Oyo, 3-Rivers, 3-Bauchi, 2-Osun, 1-Akwa Ibom, 1-Bayelsa, 1-Ebonyi and 1-Kebbi.
“As at 11:50 pm 26th April- 1273 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria with 239 patients discharged and 40 deaths.
NCDC explained that one case previously reported in Lagos, is now an Ondo State. The total number of confirmed cases in Lagos is 731, and eight in Ondo.
Earlier today, the NCDC said it was increasing testing across the country in partnership with state governments.
“We are working very closely with States to ensure access to COVID-19 testing if you have fever, cough or difficulty breathing and have been in contact with a confirmed case or live in an area with confirmed cases,” NCDC said.
The centre urges citizens to call their state hotline for advice on testing in their area.
