Gunmen suspected of kidnapping have reportedly stormed a celestial church in Ogun State, abducting two attendees named Oladapo Seyifunmi and Oluboboye Abiola.

The event occurred on Thursday in a church near Oriyarin village, Mowe, in Ogun State’s Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued on Friday by the state police public relations officer, SP Omolola Odutola, the criminals fled via a thick woodland behind the church.

The statement reads, “Suspected kidnapping: Report at my disposal reveals that on March 28, 2024, unidentified gunmen invaded a celestial church around Oriyarin village, Mowe, and abducted one Oladapo Seyifunmi and one Oluboboye Abiola, who escaped through the thick forest behind the church.

“The Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, has been briefed, and he has ordered the immediate mobilization of security personnel to go after the hoodlums.”
