Governor Udom Emmanuel has declared his intentions to seek a second term in office with a massive rally in Uyo, the capital of Akwa Ibom.

Declaring his intentions at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Emmanuel noted that he was heeding to calls of the people of the oil-rich state.
“Having hearkened to the call of my people, I am here to present myself to run for a second term,” he said.
He explained that he was contesting the second term on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“I submit myself to continue with the good works that I have done and I seek your support for my candidature as Governor for second term under the PDP.”

“I come today following the ratings and commendations of Akwa Ibom People drawn from the 3 Senatorial Districts in our state and also cutting across diverse segments of our population, that I have made results-oriented efforts in serving Akwa Ibom people since I was elected in 2015.”
“On October 22, 2014, I stood before you at the Uyo Township Stadium to announce my entry into the race for the top position in this state – the Governorship race,” he explained.

“After winning the primaries and being declared the PDP candidate, and after months of campaigns during which I sold my campaign manifesto and platform predicated on the 5 Point Governing Agenda of Wealth Creation, Economic and Political Inclusion, Poverty Alleviation, Infrastructural Consolidation and Expansion and Job Creation, the good people of Akwa Ibom State roundly reposed and affirmed their faith in me.
“On April 11, 2015 the good people of Akwa Ibom State massively voted me into office to lead them, work for them, and change their economic, social and mental circumstance.”
“I stand here again today to humbly submit myself for consideration to continue the good works you have so far helped me to achieve as your Servant-Leader.
