Nigeria announces 151 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 151 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Friday.

The 151 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 59,992.

The NCDC also announced the discharge of 63 patients from isolation centers across the country with no new death reported.

Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 71 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 19886.

Ogun state reported 21 new cases, Kaduna recorded 19 while Osun state announced 6 new cases.

Other states are Oyo-8, Federal Capital Territory-6, Rivers-6, Plateau-5, Akwa Ibom-1 and Ekiti-1.

NCDC reports that there are 59,992 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 51,641 discharged and 1,113 deaths.
