The founder of DAAR Communications Limited, owners of AIT Radio and TV stations, Chief Raymond Dokpesi was arrested by the Police in the United Kingdom. According to multiple reports in Nigeria on Sunday, Dokpesi was arrested at Heathrow Airport in London. It was not clear yet why he was arrested. One Akpan Okon Akpan, a roadside petrol seller, has been arrested for allegedly setting ablaze his friend following a disagreement over a phone charger, the police in Akwa Ibom have said. The Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi disclosed this while parading the suspect alongside other suspects who engaged in various crimes at the command headquarters, Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo. The Osun state Police Command on Tuesday announced a ban on street carnivals during the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state. He was jailed for impersonating and extorting money from motorists, particularly commercial bus drivers in Lagos.
