The family of a 40-year-old truck driver, Cosmos Ozioko, is demanding justice over his death after he was allegedly brutalised by policemen in Elele in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. The Sokoto State Police Command operatives have arrested one Haliru Riskuwa popularly known as Lopetee, for kidnapping his neighbour’s seven-year-old son. The State Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Gumel, disclosed this while parading Lopetee and other seven suspects over alleged kidnapping and banditry in the state. The Nigerian Federal Government, through the Nigeria Agricultural Quarantine Service (NAQS), said it had signed an agreement with the Mexican government to increase the export of Hibiscus plant from Nigeria to Mexico. It said the deal would generate an annual revenue of $3bn to Nigeria.
