The Nigeian Police of Bayelsa State division have said its operatives raided a warehouse in Gbarantoru community, where illicit drugs are sold and produced.

The police spokesman in the state, SP Asinim Butswat, in a statement on Tuesday, said the operatives arrested four suspected dealers of the illicit drugs

He said the anti-kidnapping unit of the command acted on a tip-off and raided the hideout, adding that during the operation, police operatives recovered a large quantity of Crystal Meth, substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other kinds of illicit drugs.

”We received information concerning the activities of the criminals from Zamfara and based on the information, we acted immediately. In the process, we arrested four persons, and recovered substances relating to illicit drugs in Gbarantoru community, a suburb of Yenagoa,” he said

He said one Josephine Chibuzo, a female aged 51; Chibuzor Uzor, a male aged 33; Timi Peter, a male, aged 25 and Favour Josiah; a female aged 25 years were arrested.

He said the suspects are undergoing interrogation and upon conclusion of the investigation will be charged to court.
