Nigerians have taken to social media to celebrate Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for his unflinching loyalty and dedication to President Muhammadu Buhari and this administration.

Many of them posted photographs of the Vice President receiving President Buhari on 19 August 2017, three months after the Nigerian President returned from medical treatment in the United Kingdom.

Osinbajo who was acting President for three months was praised for holding forte for his boss’ return unlike most politicians who would have been scheming to take over his seat.

Remembering the Vice President for his loyalty, Chigozirim urged every Nigerian to get themselves someone like Osinbajo and they will lead a peaceful life.

“Three years ago, Prof Osinbajo welcomed his boss from London after surviving a life threatening sickness. See how happy Osinbajo was, he was loyal for three months.

“Get yourself an Osinbajo today if you want to live a peaceful life devoid of mistrust and disloyalty,” Chigozirim wrote.

Joshua O. Owoyomi shared similar sentiments about the Vice President. “Three years ago today he returned and God shamed his enemies. From strength to strength Baba Buhari. See the joy on VP Osinbajo’s face and how Buhari held Osinbajo’s hand? That’s friendship,” he tweeted.

Here is how Kemisola Adekunle described the return of the President and the relationship between the two men. “If you put to the pinch, an ounce of loyalty is worth a pound of cleverness. Osinbajo was all smiles as he welcomed his boss Buhari from UK after surviving a life threatening sickness. This is loyalty at its peak. Buhari knows he made a great choice.”

For Adetola, it was all about celebrating friendship and loyalty. “Three years ago, God reinvigorated Baba Buhari and he came back home to meet his faithful Penelope (Osinbajo),” he wrote Twitter supporting it with a quote from Ann Landers that says, “Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is loyalty through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses.

Sunshine Adegbite harped on the trust between the President and the Vice President. “Trust is so fragile, when it exists anything is possible between people or nations. Today makes it three years Mr President returned from a terrible journey. Vice President Osinbajo held the country fantastically in his absence. The level of trust that exists between the duo is legendary.

Another user, Simi Joel said Vice President held the forte well for the President when he was away. “The strength of a family, like the strength of an army, is in its loyalty to each other. It is three years ago, Prof Osinbajo welcomed Buhari from London after surviving a life threatening sickness. See the joy in Osinbajo’s,  loyalty and integrity has no price.

Hannah Adedoyin reckons that the relationship between the President and Vice President is unprecedented. “Unlike others who will be scared to have their deputies manage their seat in their absence, Buhari left the seat for Osinbajo without the fear of mischief and disloyalty. The world will be a great place if we all can take clues from this. Osinbajo is special.

Another user, Folasade Adedeji believes the Vice President acted well in the absence of the President. “Three years ago Osinbajo held down Aso rock and took charge for three months while Buhari was away because of a life threatening illness. You can see the smile on PMB’s face knowing he made the perfect choice. PYO is the epitome of trustworthy, loyal and humble. A Man!

Osuo Faith tweeted that Osinbajo has stayed closer to Buhari than a brother. “A man with many friends may be harmed, but there is a friend who stays closer than a brother. VP Osinbajo is that friend that stuck with Buhari during that period of his stay away from Nigeria and the cord of friendship has never been broken.”
