Real Madrid attacker Vinícius Júnior has been awarded the Uefa Champions League Player of the Season for the 2023/2024 season.
The UEFA Technical Observer panel announced the prize on Monday.
This followed the team’s performance in the recently concluded season.
Madrid defeated Borussia Dortmund 2-0 at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday, thanks to a goal from the Brazilian international and defender Dani Carvajal.
Júnior contributed six goals to Madrid’s successful campaign, including the game-winner against Dortmund.
“I’m very happy to be able to win another Champions League with this club, which has given me so much,” said the Brazilian international after the Wembley showpiece.
“It’s an incredible thing. Not everyone can experience it and win it so many times.”
Vinicius Jr. has made 10 Champions League appearances, played 901 minutes, scored 6 goals, and provided 6 assists this season.
