PSG make €130m Osimhen offer

Former Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel has stated that Napoli star Victor Osimhen ‘wants to come to Chelsea’ ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old Nigerian striker is widely anticipated to depart Partenopei at the conclusion of the season, having recently told the media that he has ‘already decided’ on his future move. He signed a new deal with Napoli in December, with a release clause of €120–130 million.

Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United among the potential suitors.

Mikel, speaking at the Web Summit Qatar via Calciomercato.com, began by discussing the links between Osimhen and Chelsea.

“I think there is genuine interest on both sides. I’m convinced that Victor wants to come to Chelsea; obviously, he wants to follow in my footsteps and the Nigerian players who played for Chelsea, such as Victor Moses and Celestine Babayaro.

Furthermore, Obi Mikel discussed the other clubs interested in signing Osimhen this summer.

“He also has many clubs interested in him, such as PSG and Manchester United, but I am pushing, sending him messages, and trying to make sure that there is only one club in his mind: the Blues!”
