Sport journalist, Ben Jacobs has stated that the Saudi Pro League is still interested in the services of Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah.
Jacobs, “In his X post on Monday, he stated that Saudi dealmakers have always been prepared to be patient with Mo Salah, including waiting until 2025.
“Aside from respecting Salah’s wishes, one commercial reason is that the current TV rights for the Middle East, for which Saudi Sports Channel pays $80 million per year, end in June 2025.”
“Egypt is included in the package. So if Salah does arrive in 2025, this can be leveraged during the next broadcast tender.
He added, “No extra TV money will come this summer if he does move in 2024.”
Chronicle NG reported that Saudi Pro League (SPL) director of football, Michael Emenalo, said in September 2023 that there is no closed door to the Egypt winger.
SPL team Al-Ittihad’s £150 million offer for the 31-year-old was rejected in September as Liverpool insisted he was not for sale.
A move for the Egypt winger did not materialize before the SPL transfer window closed on September 7, 2023.
