Super Eagles interim head coach, George Finidi has praised his players following the team’s victory against the Black Stars of Ghana.

Finidi’s side defeated the Black Stars 2-1 in a friendly at the Grand Stade de Marrakech on Friday night.

It was Nigeria’s first win over Ghana in 18 years.

Rangers forward, Cyriel Dessers set the tone for the victory by converting a penalty in the 35th minute.

Substitute, Ademola Lookman added the second seven minutes from time following a delightful Alex Iwobi’s cross.

Finidi said he was excited to lead the Super Eagles to victory over the Black Stars since 2006.

“I am happy to win this game considering the rivalry between Nigeria and Ghana,” Finidi said after the game.

“I am happy for the players; I will keep pushing.”
