Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has left FC Barcelona Femini to join Bay FC, a new National Women’s Soccer League club in the United States.

Bay FC confirmed the new signing in a statement on Thursday.

The six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year has signed a two-year contract with Bay FC, with the option to extend it by one year until 2027.

“Bay FC, the Bay Area’s new women’s professional soccer franchise in the National Women’s Soccer League, has acquired the rights to Nigerian international Asisat Oshoala through a transfer with FC Barcelona Femení of Liga F in Spain in exchange for a transfer fee, the club announced today.

“Following the transfer, the forward was signed to a contract through the 2026 season with an option for the 2027 campaign.

“She will join the team and be added to the roster pending the receipt of her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate. Oshoala will occupy an international roster spot.”

Announcing her signing on its X page on Thursday, the club wrote, “The Agba Baller has arrived,” alluding to Oshoala’s nickname, which means “Legendary Footballer” in Yoruba.

Oshoala spent five years at FC Barcelona Femeni, netting 107 goals in 149 games.

She has won several UEFA Women’s Champions League crowns, Spanish league titles, Spanish Super Cups, and the Copa de la Reina.

Bay FC is the 14th NWSL team and represents the Bay Area in San Francisco.
