BSc in Law: Nigerians urge Enenche to apologize to Vera Anyim

Popular social media influencer Solomon Buchi has stated that Pastor Paul Eneche’s response describing the testimony of Barrister Vera Anyim as a lie was due to the frequent “abuse of testimonies on his church alter.”

Buchi made the remark in a statement on his verified X page on Monday.

His statement comes on the heels of backlash aimed at Eneche for describing Anyim’s testimony as a lie.

An elated Anyim had gone to give a testimony over her graduation from the university and for breaking an alleged curse on her family.

“I want to appreciate God for my life and that of my family, and I want to thank God for using Daddy (Eneche) and Mommy (Mrs. Eneche) for our sake,” Anyim stated.

“It all happened that I was trying to go to school at the National Open University. Before I came to Dunamis, a lot of things were happening in my life and with my family.

“From my father and mother’s family, no one is a graduate. only ended up in primary and secondary school. But when God remembered me… I went to do a law program, which I started in 2014,” she added.

She further stated that during her schooling years, her course mates graduated before her because she was facing various challenges.

However, she noted in her testimony that she graduated from the university on April 13, 2024, with a “BSc in Law.”

Reacting to her testimony, Eneche said, “The testimony is a lie. There is nothing like a BSc in Law.”

Furthermore, he berated the graduate, saying, “Is that how lawyers speak English?”

He also warned his congregation against coming to give “false testimonies.”

Reacting to the backlash on Eneche, Buchi argues that “what you guys don’t know is that Pastor Eneche has seen an abuse of testimonies on his church altar. People hustle to give testimony and lie about being widowed, hoping to get a job from the pastor.

“If you watch the testimony sessions of Dunamis, you’d concur that Pastor Eneche gets benevolent when people share touching testimonies—he offers jobs, scholarships, etc. So, guys, there is a background that warranted his reaction to that woman’s testimony.

“His response to the woman who said she has a BSc in Law has context. As we know, conventionally, there’s nothing like a BSc in law.

“It is quite granted that the testifier might have been nervous, flustered, or just incoherent and mixed up her words, but saying you have a BSc in Law will first attract raised eyebrows.

“I’m not excusing the mortifying reaction to the lady; however, it’s important to see that Pastor Eneche was also protecting the integrity of the church and trying to not fall prey to dubious people who weaponize fake testimonies to garner favors.

“Pastor Eneche is as much a human being as everyone else. I have faith that the church leadership will do something noble upon realizing that the woman’s testimony wasn’t fake.”
