The federal government has approved Thursday as an additional public holiday to celebrate this year’s Eid-El-Fitr.
Dr. Aishetu Ndayako, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, made this statement on Tuesday.
“The Honourable Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, while congratulating the Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of a month of spiritual rejuvenation, reiterates President Bola Tinubu’s (GCFR) firm commitment to providing a safe and prosperous Nigeria for all to thrive,” the statement added.
The government had previously announced Tuesday and Wednesday as the dates for the celebration of Eid-El-Fitr.
Chronicle NG recalls that the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saa’d Abubakar, announced on Monday that the 2024 Eid-El-Fitr celebration will now take place on Wednesday, April 10, 2024.

The directive followed the non-sighting of the moon across the world to signal the end of Ramadan.
