Aisha Yesufu, a sociopolitical activist, has warned of a more damaging protest than the 2020 statewide 'End SARS' demonstration.

Nigerian politician and activist Aisha Yesufu has aimed a subtle criticism at Omoyele Sowore, the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2023 presidential election.

In a statement on X on Wednesday, Yesufu, who extolled President Bassirou Diomaye Faye for becoming the president of Senegal at 44- years -old, berated Nigerian “youth” over their inability to get to the corridors of power in Nigeria.

“The youth we have in Nigeria, even when they start a party, want to remain chairman and presidential candidate at the same time,” she said.

“Even if they were imprisoned, they would not ask someone else to run. They feel it is only them. If not them, no one else,” she added.

Yesufu’s statement has been described by many as a criticism aimed at Sowore, the founder, chairman, and presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC.
