Tunji-Ojo: CCB invites minister over N585m scandal
The Code of Conduct Bureau has summoned the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for questioning, over his company’s involvement in an alleged N438 million contract scam discovered in the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
The CCB has launched an investigation into the Tunji-Ojo’s suspected infringement of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers.
A company, New Planet Projects, reportedly owned by the Minister, benefited from an alleged contract scam by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs.
A document obtained by the press on Monday showed that the CCB has called the Tunji-Ojo to appear before it on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at the CCB Headquarters, Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.
The letter addressed to Tunji-Ojo reads, “The bureau is investigating a case of alleged breach of the Code of Conduct for Public Officers in which your name featured prominently. Consequently, you are invited for an interview scheduled as follows:
“Date: Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Time: 1100 hrs prompt. Venue: CCB Headquarters on the 5th floor, Annex III, Phase I, Federal Secretariat Complex, Abuja.
