Terrorists kidnapped 87 people on Sunday night during a fresh attack on Kajuru-Station village in Kajuru Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

Harisu Dari, a member of the Kajuru Station Youths, verified the event for our correspondent in Kaduna on Monday.

Harisu stated that the terrorists also stormed into some establishments and took food and other things.

He claimed they invaded the village around 10 p.m.

The attack occurred just two days after 15 women and a man were kidnapped in the Dogon-Noma neighbourhood of the same municipality.

In the last two weeks, Kajuru and Chikun LGAs have been hotbeds of kidnapping, generating concern throughout the state.

Harisu stated that no communication has been made with the 87 residents abducted on Sunday night.

“As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers.

“The villagers are traumatised by the sad development. The government needs to re-strategize in tackling these terrorists,” he said.

Chronicle Ng reports that the terrorists had kidnapped over 172 villagers in two weeks.

At the time of filling out this report, ASP Mansir Hassan, the state police public relations officer, had not returned our correspondent’s calls or text messages.
