Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, has expressed regret over the death of Mohammed Isa Bawa, District Head of Gatawa, Sokoto State, in the kidnappers’ den.
On July 29, the bandits kidnapped the late District Head of Gatawa and his son. The late Bawa was reportedly killed by bandits in captivity.
On Thursday, Abbas’s communications adviser, Musa Krishi, issued a statement condemning the late emir’s kidnapping and mistreatment.
He said, “In the first place, the bandits’ kidnapping of the traditional ruler was barbaric, their treatment of the late Sarkin Gobir as inhuman.”
He condemned the country’s ongoing kidnapping for ransom, noting that it “was unacceptable.”
The Speaker expressed heartfelt sympathies to the late Sarkin Gobir’s family, the Gatawa District in Sabon Birni Local Administration, the people, and the Sokoto State Administration for the irreparable loss.
He prayed that “Allah would have mercy on the soul of the late Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa and make Jannatul Firdaus his final abode.”
