The Rivers State Commissioner for Special Duties, Emeka Woke, resigned from Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet.

This followed the resignation of the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Prof. Zacchaeus Adangor, SAN.

While Adangor held the same position in the previous administration of Nyesom Wike, Woke was the former governor’s chief of staff.

Fubara nominated Woke as his Commissioner for Special Duties upon taking office.

On Thursday evening, Woke confirmed his resignation to a journalist over the phone.

“Yes, I have resigned as the Commissioner for Special Duties today,” he said.

When asked if there was any reason for his resignation, he said, “When you get the soft copy of my letter of resignation, you will get the reason.”

Both Adangor and Woke are known to be close friends of Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.
