The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday released a revised timetable for its primary elections.
APC national publicity secretary, Barr. Felix Morka, said the timetable was approved by the National Working Committee of the party.
Chronicle NG reports that a date for the screening of presidential aspirants was not included in the revised timetable.
According to a party source that spoke to Chronicle NG, the party NWC is awaiting the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari before proceeding with the screening of presidential aspirants.
Governors and lawmakers have however been scheduled for their screenings.
“The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Monday, 23rd of May, 2022, approved a revised timetable/schedule of activities for the governorship, state house of assembly, senate and House of Representatives primary elections,” Morka said in a statement.
On Thursday, May 26, 2022, the governorship (State Delegates) and State House of Assembly – (LGA Delegates) screening will be held.
On Friday, May 27, 2022 the Senate (LGA Delegates) and on Saturday, May 28, 2022, House of Representatives – (LGA Delegates).
Morka noted that, “The special convention for the presidential primary will be held as scheduled on Sunday, 29th – Monday, 30th of May, 2022.”
