Cynthia Aigbondon, a middle-aged woman, was arrested by officials from the Lagos State Police Command for reportedly stabbing her neighbour, Bakarat, to death.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police public relations officer, revealed this to the press on Tuesday during an interview.
According to Hundeyin, the deceased’s husband, Adio, reported the incident to the Ajegunle Police Division about 9.48 p.m. on Sunday.
He explained that Bakarat had a little disagreement with the suspect while obtaining water from a public tap near their home.
He went on to say that after the argument, the suspect stabbed Bakarat in the left side of her ribs with a kitchen knife.
“She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors on duty confirmed her dead,” he said.
Hundeyin stated that the operatives of the force had visited the crime scene, recovered evidence, and taken photographs.
He also stated that Bakarat’s body had been deposited at the hospital for autopsy and preservation.
