The Kano State Police Command has denied receiving any order from the government on the arrest of deposed Emir Ado Bayero.
The State commissioner of Police, Hussain Gumel made this known while briefing journalists at the police headquarters in Bompai Kano on Saturday.
“We have not received the official communication regarding Governor Yusuf’s instruction to arrest the 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero”, Gumel said
This is as the Commissioner of Police said the command will enforce the court order restraining the state government from dissolving five newly created Emirates in the state.
Recall that Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State, has issued an order for Aminu Ado Bayero, the ousted emir of Kano, to be taken into custody immediately.
The directive was stated in a statement released on Saturday by Sanusi Tofa, the Director General of Media and Publicity at Government House in Kano.
Bayero should be placed under custody, according to the governor, for allegedly inciting unrest in the state.
