Police arrest two over possession of toy gun
Operatives of the Nigerian police in Lagos State have apprehended two suspects for possessing a toy gun and resisting arrest.
This was announced in a statement on X on Saturday by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Force Public Relations Officer in Lagos State.
According to Hundeyin, the operatives on stop-and-search duty by the Agege Railway apprehended Kyari Idris (m), aged 20, and Abubakar Salisu (m), aged 18, in possession of a toy gun hidden under the seat of their motorcycle.
“Kyari Idris, aged 20, and Abubakar Salisu, aged 18, were found with a toy pistol under the seat of their motorcycles by police officers on stop-and-search duty at the Agege Railway Police Station,” Hundeyin stated.
He added that “the duo then resisted arrest, prompting the officers to call for backup.”
According to Hundeyin, “investigation is ongoing” to determine the culpability of the suspects.
