Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau called on residents to remain calm over the recent attack on the Chikam community in Bokkos Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement, Mutfwang said residents should remain calm and that security agencies were working hard to restore normalcy in the area.
Chronicle NG reports that the attack led to the deaths of scores of residents, including a 200-level computer science student at Plateau University, Bokkos.
“We condemn this barbaric act, but we want to reassure Plateau citizens, particularly students of our university, of our unwavering commitment to safeguarding their lives and property, Gyang Bere disclosed in a statement.
“I want to urge everyone to remain calm in the face of this tragedy. The government is determined to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the crime,” he said.
Governor Mutfwang further emphasized the importance of collaboration among residents, community leaders, and security agencies for the safety of all.
