The Lagos State Government in a swift response to alleviate the impact of heavy rainfall on Wednesday morning has deployed the Environmental and Flood Abatement Gang (EFAG) team, under the auspices of the State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources (@LasgMOE), to the Olopomeji section of Iyana Oworo.
The sudden downpour had left the road submerged, posing challenges to vehicular movement and pedestrian traffic. Prompt action was essential to mitigate further inconvenience and ensure safety along this crucial thoroughfare.
Confirming the deployment of the team to the section of the road, Lagos State commissioner for environment Tokunbo Wahab in a post via his X handle said the road is free to use for road users plying the route.
“The EFAG team from the Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources @LasgMOE were deployed to monitor/clear the flash flood at the Olopomeji section of Iyana Oworo. The road is now free from rain water. Thank you for your patience and understanding.” Wahab posted
