Okuama Massacre: Police handover Delta monarch to Army

The Delta State Police Command has turned over HRM Clement Ikolo Oghenerukevwe, the traditional ruler of Ewu Kingdom in Delta State’s Ughelli South Local Government Area, to the Army in Asaba in furtherance of the investigation of the Okuama massacre.

He surrendered himself on Thursday after the Defence Headquarters declared him sought for the deaths of 17 troops in Okuama, Delta State.

The monarch was declared wanted, along with Ewu Kingdom’s president general, Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, a militant leader named Amagbein, and six others.

The Nigeria Defence Headquarters declared the eight people wanted in connection with the gruesome murder of 17 soldiers in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Chronicle NG reported that 17 military men were killed during a communal clash in Delta State.

They were reported to have died while responding to a distress call amid a confrontation between the Okuama and Okoloba villages in Delta State on Thursday.
