The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have returned to Abuja’s Presidential Villa to finalise negotiations with the Federal government and have announced their decision regarding the indefinite strike called by organised labour on Tuesday, October 3.
Earlier in the day, the NLC and TUC had separate emergency National Executive Council (NEC) meetings to relay the government’s offer to workers to their huge decision-making bodies. They also debated the government’s offers and made a choice.
The labour unions are anticipated to communicate their choice to the federal government and finally advise the media on their final position on the proposed statewide indefinite strike.
According to reports, the meeting was slated for 4 p.m., but the meeting has yet to commence as of the time of filing this report.
