    Nigeria announces 1,133 new coronavirus cases

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 1,133 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday.

    The 1,133 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 80,922.

    The NCDC also announced the discharge of 395 patients from isolation centers across the country with five new deaths reported.

    Lagos state, the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria reported 397 new confirmed cases taking the total number of confirmed cases in Lagos alone to 27,488.

    • Nigeria announces 999 new coronavirus cases

    The Federal Capital Territory recorded the second highest number of positive cases for the day with 357 new cases.

    Kaduna state recorded 81 new cases, Plateau state reported 63, Katsina state had 46, Sokoto reported 32 while Oyo announced 28 new cases.

    Other states are Ogun-21, Kano-19, Rivers-18, Osun-13, Edo-12, Niger-12, Bayelsa-11, Borno-11, Bauchi-8, Jigawa-2 and Ondo-2.

    NCDC reports that there are 80,922 cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria with 69,274 discharged and 1,236 deaths.
