Riot policemen and State Security Services (SSS) operatives searched the residence of Ibrahim Magu, the suspended Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) acting chairman.
The security operatives arrived his residence around 7:30 pm on Tuesday.
According to source close to the presidential panel set up to investigate Mr Magu, operatives were detailed to conduct searches at Mr Magu’s private home in Karu and his official residence in the Maitama District both in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The raid on Magu’s private home and official residence were conducted while he was being detained by the presidential panel for more grilling.
“As I speak with you our men are on their way to Maitama, having finished with his house in Karu,” a source told Premium Times.
A domestic staff said the security operatives arrived in four vehicles and spent over an hour searching the house.
“They searched the house but found nothing so they wrote a report and both of us signed,” said a security guard in the house who was not authorised to speak.
He was suspended on Tuesday by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration amidst allegations of gross misconduct.
The Presidency is yet to issue an official statement although several top officials of the Buhari administration has confirmed his suspension.
