#KogiDecides2023: INEC fixes Nov 18 for fresh elections In 59 polling units

Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth, and Advancement (YIAGA Africa), a civil society organization, has expressed concern about the discovery of fake election results in the ongoing Kogi State governorship race.

Polling Unit 004, Eni Ward, Ogori/Mangogo, Kogi State, was alleged to have produced the results.

The organization, which revealed the revelation on Saturday using its X handle, requested the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to examine the source.

The post reads, “Dear @inecnigeria, we received a report of a pre-filled results sheet discovered in PU 004, Eni Ward of Ogori/Magongo in Kogi State, before the commencement of voting. Kindly investigate and address this issue promptly to safeguard the integrity of the process.”

According to the supposed results, which were linked to the post, the APC received 200 votes, the AA received one, and the ADC, PDP, and SDP each received two votes.

Meanwhile, the People’s Democratic Party candidate, Dino Melaye, corroborating the claim, stated that INEC officials refused to show the voters in the polling unit a clean copy of the result sheet.

He said, “The result sheets have been filled and tempered with already, and people are refusing to accredit, people are refusing to vote, and they are insisting that plain result sheets must be shown to agents in accordance with electoral laws.”
