Chike Olemgbe, Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, announced on Tuesday the suspension of four members for allegedly plotting to impeach him.
The suspended lawmakers were Ahiazu-Mbaise, Samuel Otuibe; Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Henry Agbasonu; Okigwe, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa; and Dominic Ezerioha of Oru-West.
The Speaker stated that the decision to suspend them was made at the executive session.
The Speaker also declared that the suspended members’ standing committees had been reclaimed.
Chronicle NG learned that at the plenary, the Speaker performed a small change on the standing committees.
Some of the suspended members present for the announcement declined to speak with reporters.
