A prominent Nigerian businessman and entrepreneur known for his successful ventures in various sectors, Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, (IBD Dende) has allegedly threatened to kill a Customs officer.
In a video making the rounds on social media on Friday, the displeased business magnet can be seen on rampage over the seizure of his allegedly smuggled goods from the Benin Republic into Nigeria.
Describing the businessman as “the most notorious smuggler in the South West,” Fisoyo Soyombo stated that “the officer he would have harmed had he not been restrained is an Assistant Superintendent of Customs.”
In the video, the customs’ personnel can be heard saying, “What have I done? He is threatening to kill me.”
Despite wielding guns, all the customs officers in the footage can be seen pacifying Dende.
IBD Dende can also be seen bragging: “Ejigbunu is the one I called.” “Ejigbunu brought it [the smuggled goods] in.
According to Soyombo, “Ejigbunu here is Hussein Ejigbunu, Comptroller, Federal Operations Unit Zone A.”
Dende questioned the customs officer for not stopping their bosses’ trailers of rice being smuggled in from Seme.
