Governor Godwin Obaseki on Friday officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after resigning from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Obaseki’s decision to join the PDP comes days after he was disqualified from seeking re-election on the platform of the APC.
The Edo governor picked the party membership card and is expected to emerge their governorship candidate in the September 19th election.
In a tweet by the PDP, the party wrote, “The governor of Edo State, H. E. Governor Godwin Obaseki has defected to our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party.
“The declaration was made this afternoon at the state Secretariat of our party in Benin city, Edo State. Power to the people.
