Fire engulfs Supreme Court complex
A section of the Supreme Court building was on fire on Monday morning, but no casualties were reported, according to the court.
Mr Festus Akande, the Court‘s Public Relations Officer, told Chronicle NG over the phone that the cause of the fire was electrical from one of the Justices’ Chambers and that it was extinguished with fire extinguishers.
Akande also stated that social media reports of casualties are “fake news.”
According to an unnamed source, the fire started at 6 a.m.
According to reports, the cleaners on duty and some of the workers who returned to work early spotted the fire and called 911.
The personnel were alleged to have used the building’s fire extinguishers to fight the fire.
The fire damaged three offices, including Justice Mohammed Saulawa’s.
