Operatives of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Services and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency are now responding to a fire outbreak at the Oko Baba plank market in the state’s Ebute Metta region.
An X user, Adedeji Olalekan, tweeting as #Stylomedia, said on Sunday that the inferno also affected the market’s shanties.
He tweeted, “Okobaba Street is on fire now; all the shanties are burning.”
LASEMA’s spokesperson, Nosa Okunbor, confirmed the event in a brief WhatsApp message, saying emergency personnel are on the scene conducting a search and rescue operation.
