The Kaduna state government has made fresh allegations against the recently freed Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.
Less than 48 hours ago, the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria regained his freedom after a Kaduna state high court ruled that he and his wife did not have any case to answer.
However, in a swift turn of events, the Kaduna State government filed fresh charges on Thursday against the Islamic cleric who had been detained for over five years.
Apparently, the state government was not satisfied with the ruling, hence the filing of seven charges which border on terrorism and treasonable felony against the embattled Islamic cleric.
The state Director of Public Prosecution, Daris Bayero stated that the court will soon issue an arrest warrant for El-Zakzaky to answer the charges.
