Wale Adedayo, the suspended Chairman of Ogun State’s Ijebu East Local Government Area who was detained by the Department of State Services (DSS), has been released.
The suspended chairman was held on Friday after the DSS invited him.
Wale Adedayo accused the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, of withholding the statutory federal grant owed to the state’s twenty local government areas, an allegation refuted by the state government during a press conference held in the state capital.
According to reports, the suspended chairman was interrogated for several hours at the service’s headquarters in Abeokuta before being arrested and subsequently released.
His release came as a result of a statement attributed to Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and human rights campaigner Femi Falana, who asked for his release from custody of the secret police.
