President Muhammadu Buhari is scheduled to hold a farewell broadcast as President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces by 7 a.m. on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

This was contained in a press release signed by Femi Adesina, special adviser to the president on media and publicity.

The statement reads:

“President Muhammadu Buhari will make a farewell broadcast as President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces on Sunday, May 28, at 7 a.m.

The president, whose tenure draws to an end, will be relinquishing power to his successor, president-elect Bola Tinubu, on Monday, May 29, 2023.

With the inauguration of Tinubu hours away, this has necessitated the President to address and bid farewell to Nigerians in what will be his last state broadcast as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
