Popular Banex Plaza, an electronics and telecommunications gadget market in Abuja, has remained under lock and key, days after soldiers and some traders at the market clashed.
Soldiers have remained stationed across the plaza since the incident on Saturday, report disclosed.
The report claimed to have seen military vans stationed at various locations around the plaza.
Daily Trust reported that after waiting for hours, some traders who had gathered away from the plaza started to leave.
The report stated that while none of the traders consented to speak to the press, they expressed their regret over the financial consequences of the plaza’s closure on a significant business day such as Monday.
Chronicle NG reported on Sunday that soldiers and traders clashed at the popular gadget market over the reported sale of a defective phone.

A trader had reportedly sold a bad phone to someone who invited soldiers.
Although the police stepped in to resolve the situation, soldiers later stormed the plaza, forcing traders to shut down immediately.
