A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the Kwara South Senatorial District of Kwara State, Chief Omogbenle Adeyemi, has advised the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to stop inciting APC members against Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
Chief Adeyemi, who said in proverb that, “Infant’s head does not bend when the Elders are in the market”, told the Minister, who hails from the Senatorial District, to behave as a Statesman.
“He did little or nothing during the campaign in 2019. He should thank God for the dividend of the Party he got, which he never merited”
He added that the Minister ought to give good account of himself as a democrat because he is expected to raise the banner of probity and accountability to quell the allegation levied against him rather than making frivolous claims.
“Some of us were on ground and know who did what during the elections. We know the enormity of work and resources we put into winning the elections while Lai Mohammed was just enjoying himself in Abuja and sourcing and accumulating donations for his personal benefit.
We would not support any individual whose only interest was to corner every available money donated for his personal use,” he stated.
“The truth is that Lai didn’t believe that we were going to win that election ”
Speaking to journalists at APC rally in Ekiti Local Government on Monday in Kwara State, Chief Gbenle commended the effort of the Governor, saying that, “what we have experienced in terms of infrastructure had never happened to us as a Local Government. The Governor is putting everything in place to correct the wrongs”.
The APC Chieftain also said that the entire Ekiti Local Government APC, all the Elected Stakeholders from Kwara South had passed vote of confidence on the leadership of the Governor and the Caretaker Chairman in the State, Hon Abdullahi Sanmari.
“I will advise the honourable Minister of Information and Culture to leave the Party instead of inciting his stooges to cause crisis within the Party”, he said.
Chief Adeyemi said that in less than two years in office, the Governor has performed tremendously across the State.
What we should be concerned with now is to sustain our political hold in Government and win 2023 General Elections.
I call on the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, General Muhammad Buhari as matter of urgency to terminate the appointment of Lai Mohammed with immediate effect.
