The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, had announced that 2baba, the prime suspect in the killing of DSP Bako Angbashim, had been killed during a joint operation in a forest in Ahoada.
Disu, while showing 2Baba’s corpse, revealed that tactical operatives identified the shallow grave in Ebrass, Ahoada West LGA, Rivers State, where the notorious Iceland cult leader was buried, based on credible intelligence, in the early hours of Friday.
Disu, who showed the corpse at the command’s headquarters on Moscow Road yesterday, emphasized the necessity of cooperation and solidarity in the fight against crime.
He urged the people to continue supplying the police with timely and accurate information that can help them identify and apprehend criminals.
The CP reminded the state’s inhabitants that the Police Command is still committed to the state’s safety and security and that operations to apprehend additional members of 2baba’s gang and dismantle any remaining criminal networks would continue.
He urged the public to stay watchful and report any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities and congratulated the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, all command officers, and state residents for their efforts.
