A security group in Anambra State has proclaimed its intention to arrest women seen in public without bras or panties.
The statement, made over a public address system, was captured in a viral video posted on X (previously Twitter) on Sunday.
In the film, a security official speaking in Igbo claims the command was sent by the state governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
He also stated that ladies wearing only panties in public will be arrested.
However, Anambra officials have yet to produce an official statement regarding the announcement.
Meanwhile, Shehu Sani, a former senator from Kaduna State, expressed concern on Monday about how security will ensure compliance by women and whether the law applies to men.
He revealed his position in a message posted on his X account.
He wrote, “Anambra’s Bra and Pant law; I don’t know if the Pant law is applicable to men… and how can the security outfit verify ladies compliance??”
