NIMC launches mobile app NIN

A Nigerian man simply identified himself as @abujatechbro, who stated that he had been waiting since 2015 to get his National Identification Number (NIN) card and finally found a ‘do it yourself’ way around it.

In a video making the rounds on TikTok, the man disclosed to people how to use a mobile app to generate their cards without stress.

He disclosed that he got his card within an hour.

He instructed those interested in getting their cards to type in NIMC into the Play Store or Apple Store to get MWS: NIMC Personal ID.

A check on the NIMC official page disclosed that it is the same app the agency has online.

After opening the app, he clicked “Print NIN Slip”, and “Print Premium Slip” appeared. A box asked for a token of N1,000 via Remita to generate the printable copy.

According to him, the soft copy generated with the app should be taken to a printer to make one’s card.

A man simply identified as Waliu, who had experience converting a NIN slip to a card, stated that the conversion is straightforward.

“There is no problem with the conversion at all. All you have to do is give a printer the copy the app generates. With around N3k or less, you have it printed,” he said.

In the same vein, a social media user, ‘Verified anonymous’ who followed the procedures dished out by the man, said, “Done it just now. Thank you. For me, remita was $1200 and plastic ID was $2,000 each. Still better than waiting for 20 years.”
